Resource Circulation Initiatives

Mizkan is reducing the use of essential resources like PET bottles, glass containers, and paper in our product manufacturing. We are also working on initiatives to reduce, reuse, and recycle (3Rs).

In June 2023, Mizkan signed an agreement with Handa City, where our headquarters is located, titled "Agreement on Horizontal Recycling of PET Bottles for Achieving a Resource-Circulating Society." Through this agreement, we aim to contribute to a resource-circulating society*1 by consistently recycling used PET bottles used and collected in the city through "bottle-to-bottle" horizontal recycling*2, transforming them into stable raw materials for our own PET bottle products.

* 1 As of February 2024, similar agreements have been concluded with Taketoyo Town in Chita District and Higashiura Town
* 2 Horizontal recycling refers to recovering and processing used products into raw materials to be used to produce the same item
