Mizkan Group privacy policy

Mizkan Holdings Co. Ltd. and other affiliated companies (hereinafter referred to as “the Mizkan Group,” collectively or individually) shall recognize the importance of protecting the personal information of customers, business partners, and employees (hereinafter referred to as “the concerned”), comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other relevant laws and regulations, and properly handle personal information.

The Mizkan Group may collect personal information to the extent necessary, as part of business activities, or when various requests are made by the concerned to the Mizkan Group.
The Mizkan Group will use legitimate and appropriate means when collecting personal information through a third party such as a contractor, or from information that is publicly available.

The Mizkan Group uses the personal information of the concerned in the planning and development, manufacturing, sales and distribution, and other related operations for seasonings, food products, and natto (fermented soybeans), only to the extent necessary to fulfil the purpose of use described in the “Purpose of use” section below. When the need to use personal information arises beyond the scope reasonably deemed to be related to the purpose of use, the Mizkan Group shall notify the individual of the purpose of use and obtain consent in advance. The Mizkan Group shall not use personal information for this purpose of use if consent is not obtained.
In addition, in accordance with this privacy policy, the personal information of the concerned may be transferred to, held and handled in countries other than their country of residence, such as countries where Mizkan Group's subcontractors are located, in order to achieve the purpose of use. For example, the countries where our clients are located include Canada (website management and other outsourced services) and the United States (data management and other outsourced services).

In addition to the "Mizkan Group privacy policy" above, information described below that cannot be used to identify specific individuals may be obtained for the purpose of Mizkan Group's products and services improvement, product development, and advertising and marketing activities.

Users always have the option of refusing to provide the personal information requested. However, in that case some services on the Mizkan Group website may become available.
The Mizkan Group strives to ensure security by means of security technology such as the encoding of personal information by SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) as necessary, so that the personal information provided by customers on the Mizkan Group website cannot be intercepted by a third party during transmission.
In terms of server certificates used in encrypted communication (SSL/TLS), worldwide efforts are being made to migrate from SHA-1, a cryptographic algorithm that has been widely used, to SHA-2, a cryptographic algorithm of a higher security level.
