Food Education Program at Mizkan Museum
In Handa City, a town that prospered through sake brewing, sake-kasu vinegar was created from sake lees generated during the brewing process.
Located in Handa City, the birthplace of the Group, and set against the historic scenery of black wooden fences lining a long-established canal, this facility introduces the history of Mizkan’s vinegar production, fermentation technologies, commitment to craftsmanship, and the appeal of food culture. With a strong respect for tradition, innovation, and the environment, it serves to pass these values on to future generations.
As a hands-on, experiential museum, visitors can learn about the richness of food culture by seeing, touching, and enjoying interactive exhibits. The facility also hosts social studies field trips for elementary and junior high school students and offers outreach classes at local schools conducted by museum staff.
