Initiatives at Manufacturing Sites
Manufacturing sites consume large amounts of energy, and Mizkan is implementing energy-saving measures across its factories. By upgrading air-conditioning equipment, installing heat-shielding panels on roofs, and introducing energy-efficient air-conditioning systems, the Company is working to make more effective use of electricity.

Use of Insulation Covers
In addition to capital investments, Mizkan is steadily implementing a range of improvements, such as using insulation covers in areas where heat is utilized to improve thermal efficiency. These incremental efforts contribute to enhanced energy performance across facilities.
Initiatives at Offices
Buildings in the headquarters area incorporate advanced environmental facilities that make use of local characteristics, including the introduction of renewable energy in the headquarters and research buildings, as well as a natural daylighting system at the MIZKAN MUSEUM that uses reflecting pools and eaves.
By leveraging these advanced technologies and systems, Mizkan is steadily working to reduce CO₂ emissions while also fostering greater environmental awareness among employees. The introduction of a natural ventilation system has reduced air-conditioning electricity consumption by approximately 25%.

Mizkan is also promoting the installation of LED lighting and motion sensors in other offices to reduce CO₂ emissions. In areas where people are not normally present, such as corridors and restrooms, motion-sensor lighting helps prevent lights from being left on, resulting in significant energy-saving effects.
